Forest Tree Species Map of Trentino, Italy (10m)

This forest tree species map was created using weak labelled data in the form of forest management units from the province of Trento. A support vector machine was trained with monthly composites from Sentinel-2 from 2019 as well as a digital terrain model, a canopy height model as well as additional climatic data to improve ecological robustness. The resulting resolution is 10m. 18 tree species classes were included in the map, some of which correspond to single species, others are classes where several minority species regularly coocurring together were merged to form a common class.
