Differences in Soil Carbon Fractions and Microbial Communities between ANR and Plantation Forests

This study assessed SOC fractions and microbial communities across four forest management types in southeastern China: secondary forest (SF), assisted natural regeneration (ANR), and two monoculture plantations (Castanopsis carlesii and Cunninghamia lanceolata). Labile and recalcitrant organic carbon fractions, SOC and total nitrogen (TN) were measured. The microbial community structure of the soil was determined using PLFAs.
