资源简介:
The major objective of the U.S. GLOBEC, Georges Bank project was to understand the population dynamics of key species on the Bank - Cod, Haddock and two species of zooplankton (Calanus finmarchicus and Pseudocalanus) - in terms of their coupling to the physical environment and in terms of their predators and prey.
Zooplankton sampling was conducted on forty-four cruises on Georges Bank during the period 1995-2000. The MOCNESS System was the primary sampling tool. Additional samples were obtained by Bongo net tows and Pumping systems. Screening for taxonomy was conducted by Dr. Ted Durbin's laboratory at the Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island. Some taxon are further sorted by life stage and sex. The raw organism counts have been converted to water column concentrations by cubic meter and square meter. A detailed description of sampling and analytical methods can be found in:
Durbin, E. G, P. R. Garrahan and M. C. Casas , 2000. Abundance and distribution of Calanus finmarchicus on the Georges Bank during 1995 and 1996 . ICES Journal of Marine Science, Volume 57, Issue 6, December 2000, Pages 1664-1685.
Notes:
Taxonomic names and codes are based on the National Oceanographic Data Center's Taxonomic List, version 8.
The complete list of taxa reported is too large to be listed in the keywords. The user is urged to use the (edit/find this page) command to determine if a organism of interest is present in the selected data.
