Morphometric Data

High-quality labial view images were selected for geometric morphometric analysis. Each image was assigned a unique identifier and classified according to the taxonomy of Cappetta (2012).A TPS file was created using TPSUtil (v. 1.8.2; Rohlf, 2015) and landmarks were digitized using TPSDig (v. 2.31; Rohlf, 2015). The landmark scheme consisted of 7 fixed landmarks (type II), 2 pseudo-landmarks, and 40 semilandmarks placed along the tooth outline to capture overall shape (Fig. 3; Table 2). All subsequent statistical analyses were performed in MorphoJ (v. 1.07a; Klingenberg, 2011) (Morphometric Data.morphoJ).
