Taiwan Hot Spring Raw Sequence Reads

Some cyanobacteria, known as far-red light-utilizing cyanobacteria (FRLCyano), can perform photosynthesis using both visible light (400-700 nm) and far-red light (700-800 nm). Predominantly isolated from hot springs, they were traditionally identified using pigment or culture-based methods, which are often time-consuming and low in resolution. This study employs a 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing-based approach to explore the distribution and ecological role of FRLCyano across 11 hot springs in Taiwan.
