Around six million workers were employed in both Gyeonggi-do and Seoul in 2022. The active labor force in the country amounted to around 25.2 million. Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Gwangju, Daejeon, Ulsan, and Sejong are designated metropolitan cities, while the rest are provinces. Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do are considered the capital region of South Korea; 13.14 million or over 50 percent of workers nationwide were active in this region.
