EMAG2v3QT: A Revised Earth Magnetic Anomaly Grid to Address the Huge Data Gap in the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau (Qinghai-Tibet Plateau)
收藏资源简介:
EMAG2v3QT is a revised and enhanced version of the Earth Magnetic Anomaly Grid (EMAG2v3), specifically developed to address the longstanding data gap over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau (Qinghai-Tibet Plateau). The original EMAG2v3 lacks near-surface magnetic survey coverage in this key tectonic region, limiting its utility for high-resolution lithospheric magnetic field modeling and Curie-point depth studies. EMAG2v3QT integrates publicly available aeromagnetic data into the EMAG2v3 framework. The aeromagnetic data were upward continued to an altitude of 4 km, high-pass filtered to remove long-wavelength distortions (wavelengths > ~400 km), and smoothed using a sixth-order Butterworth low-pass filter (~30 km wavelength). Long-wavelength components consistent with EMAG2 were retained using the MF7 satellite model up to spherical harmonic degree 133. The processed data were then merged with EMAG2 using a blending function within the update region (28°–40°N, 74°–92°E), resampled to a 2 arc-minute resolution, and assigned a source identifier (39) and an uncertainty estimate (50 nT). The resulting grid provides continuous magnetic anomaly coverage over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau for the first time within a globally consistent framework. EMAG2v3QT is well-suited for lithospheric magnetic studies, regional tectonic analysis, and geophysical modeling.
