The effects of epicardial-specific deletion of Sox9 on parietal mitral valve leaflet development

The overall goal of this study is to determine the transcriptomic consequences of the absence of epicardial-derived cells in the parietal leaflets of the atrioventricular valves as a consequence of epicardial deletion of Sox9. Isolated parietal mitral valve leaflets from 5 biological replicates of control (Sox9 fl/fl) and 4 littermate epicardial-knockout (Wt1-cre; Sox9 fl/fl) mice at postnatal day 5 were compared by RNA-seq.
