The AllSeaBio database was used by NIWA (and its predecessor - New Zealand Oceanographic Institute (NZOI)) to store information about marine species caught during research operations, as well as museum specimens held at the New Zealand National Invertebrate Collection (NIC). AllSeaBio was retired in 2005 and replaced by the Biods database (for research catch data) and the Specify database for NIC museum specimens.
