Comprehensive analysis of transcriptome and metabolome identified the key gene networks regulating fruit length in melon

Melon is an ideal model crop for studying fruit development. Fruit shape is an important quality trait. Fruit length is a key indicator affecting fruit shape.Our findings uncover the candidate genes regulating melon fruit length and developing molecular markers are beneficial to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying melon fruit development and help molecular marker-assisted breeding.
