Urban Trees as National Sentinels: A Two-Year Leaf-Based Survey of PM, Trace Elements, and Microplastics in All 16 Polish Regional Capitals - Dataset

This dataset presents a comprehensive environmental analysis across 16 major cities in Poland, focusing on air quality, tree species, microplastic contamination, and precipitation patterns for the years 2022 and 2023. The first dataset details average concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5 pollutants associated with different tree species planted in urban environments, along with qualitative results of microplastic analyses on various components (e.g., bottle, foliage, tire, and plastic types such as PE, PP, PVC). The second dataset includes monthly precipitation levels, annual totals, and average rainfall during the growing season (April–September), offering insight into potential correlations between precipitation and vegetation dynamics. These data contribute to the assessment of urban ecological health and inform future strategies for sustainable city planning and green infrastructure development in Poland.
