Global snowmelt onset dataset from spaceborne radiometer observations

A 40-year integrated global snowmelt onset dataset (1979–2018) is produced by combining the estimates over sea ice, ice sheets and the terrestrial snow from spaceborne microwave radiometers. <br>The melt onset dataset is produced over the Northern Hemisphere (NH) and Southern Hemisphere (SH) for each year, with a spatial resolution of 25 km. Note that NH_1987 is not included due to the continuous missing of satellite observations. <br>The globally integrated snowmelt onset (MO) dataset brings new insights into the climate dynamics in the cryosphere and the associated atmospheric controls.<br>
