The Slovenian Community in Slovenian Minority Media in Croatia

This dataset contains a systematically collected corpus of media items from Slovenian minority newspapers published in Croatia (Novi odmev, Kažipot, Mavrica, Planika, and Sopotja). The data focus on media coverage of the Slovenian community in Croatia and the role of Slovenian minority media in shaping discourse on national minorities. The dataset includes chronologically ordered media items and is structured by individual media outlets. Each item is coded using a thematic categorisation scheme covering politics, culture, economy, and education, with detailed subcategories. The coding scheme, variables, and coding instructions are documented in the accompanying codebook. The dataset enables analysis of thematic trends, media representation, and the development of Slovenian minority media over the past three decades. It is intended for use in research on minority media, media representation of national minorities, and related fields in media and minority studies.
