Imaging G75.2+0.1 comma the Pulsar Wind Nebula of a Likely Gamma-ray Pulsar

We propose a 75ks observation with XMMNewton to study the recentlydiscoveredpulsar wind nebula G75.2+0.1, which is associated with the Velalike pulsar PSRJ2021+3651. These observations will complement a 19.0ks Chandra observation ofthe source made by our group, which discovered thermal Xrays from the pulsar aswell as an apparently toroidal inner nebula. XMM.s larger effective area andfield of view will allow us to image and perform spectroscopy on the faintdiffuse emission surrounding the inner nebula, and to determine whether faintjets, hinted at by our Chandra observation, are indeed present along thenebula.s axis of symmetry. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
