Functional transcriptome analyses of Drosophila suzukii midgut reveal mating-dependent reproductive plasticity in females

We performed transcriptomic analysis of the midgut to investigate how gene expression varies with female mating status in Drosophila suzukii, a destructive and invasive soft fruit pest. Characterizing the differentially expressed genes in virgin or mated females midgut will be crucial to better understand molecular research related to reproduction and provide abundant target genes for effective control of this agricultural pest.
