Investigation of the Rumen microbiome on goats

The aim of this study investigated the effect of thymol supplementation on rumen microbiota. Illumina MiSeq sequencing was applied to investigate the rumen bacteria, archaea, and protozoa. By establishing the correlations between rumen fermentation production and rumen microbial communities, the interaction among rumen microbes can be elucidated, thus could lay the foundation for the regulation of rumen fermentation through the manipulation of rumen microbiota.
