Metagenomic study in patients with active Cushing disease

In this study, we first performed a metagenomic study in individuals with Cushing disease (CD) and age- and body mass index-matched healthy controls. We found that gut microbial composition in patients with CD was notably different from that in healthy controls. Next, we performed network analysis and revealed the core specie in the gut microbial system of CD patients, and consecutive correlation analysis exhibited the significant associations between core species and UFC. Subsequent genome interaction group (GIG) analysis identified the positive correlations between central GIG and UFC as well as impaired cognition score.
