XRD and XAS investigation of cobalt-based Fischer–Tropsch synthesis catalysts.

This proposal aims to study cobalt nanoparticles on different supports exposed to the FT reaction conditions using synchrotron X-ray techniques such as wideangle X-ray scattering (WAXS), X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES), and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF). The focus will be on investigating well-defined cobalt FT catalysts, with particular attention to the cobalt particles sintering, their crystallographic structure, chemical coordination environment, and the impact of supporting material.
