Re-diploidization is essential for genome stability and evolution regarding to the environmental adaptation and speciation after whole-genome duplication (WGD). However, the early process of the genome evolution after WGD is largely unclear. WGD of Schizothorax o'connori happened about 3 million years ago, thus providing an excellent material for the progress of re-diploidization.
