Three sampling natural areas which were heavily invaded by Solidago canadensis are located nearby Hangzhou Bay Wetland Park, Shangpan Town and Fengjiang Village in the eastern part of Zhejiang Province.The dominated soil type is classified as yellow–brown soil with a silty clay texture (clay 24.6%, silt 67.3% and sand 8.1%). The soil core sample was collected into 0-30 cm depth where most roots present using a stainless steel sampler with 3.5 cm diameter.
