Although the transmission and spread of CHIKV are now considered a moderate risk in Mexico, the threat of new outbreaks is not ruled out due to the high infestation of Aedes mosquitoes in the country. This study advances current knowledge of the Spatio-temporal dynamics of CHIKV genetic diversification, using the phylogenetic information, obtained from structural and non-structural genes.
