This study aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the enhanced drought tolerance observed in tetraploid Malus sieboldii plants compared to their diploid counterparts. Through comparative transcriptomic analysis of leaf tissues from diploid (A12) and tetraploid (A11) grafted plants under well-watered and drought stress conditions, we seek to reveal how whole-genome duplication regulates key genes and pathways that collectively enhance plant adaptation to water deficit.
