Streptomyces pratensis is a Gram-positive actinobacteria with metabolic machinery to produce a variety bioactive molecule, such as, antibiotics, antifungals, antitumoral, vegetal growth factors, and enzymes involved in plant biomass degradation. Here, we report the assembly and annotation of the genome sequence of S. pratensis MCR24 strain, that contains 7.661 protein coding sequence, G + C content of 70,6% on one chromosome (6,064,989 bp). In addition, the genes coding for hydrolases, oxidoreductases and lyases, were also found in the genome, implying that S. pratensis MCR24 has potentially a wide range of uses in the degradation of lignocellulosic materials.
