Bitten Tongues, Racing Hearts: Cross-Sectional Associations Among Social Anxiety, Expressive Suppression, and Anger-In

De-identified dataset, analysis code (Python 3.12), outputs, questionnaire, and preregistration for “Bitten Tongues, Racing Hearts: Cross-Sectional Associations Among Social Anxiety, Expressive Suppression, and Anger-In.” The repository contains fully reproducible cross-sectional analyses examining associations among social anxiety, anger-in, expressive suppression, and cognitive reappraisal, including regression models, moderation analyses, alternative model specifications, and latent-variable robustness analyses. The project was preregistered after data collection and before inferential analysis. The archived preregistration used mediation terminology for some cross-sectional model specifications; however, all results in this repository should be interpreted strictly as cross-sectional associations and not as evidence of temporal ordering or causal effects. Materials include a README and Colab-friendly scripts using HC3 robust standard errors and 5,000 BCa bootstrap resamples for reproducibility.
