Gene expression analysis of SRBD1-deficient U2OS cells

SRBD1 (S1 RNA-binding domain-containing protein 1) is a protein of unknown function. Genome-wide association studies have linked SRBD1 variants to an increased risk of glaucoma. SRBD1 has sequence and predicted structure similarity to histone chaperones and proteins that regulate transcription. The aim of this study was to determine if inactivating SRBD1 causes changes in gene expression. Overall design: U2OS cells were transfected with non-targeting control or SRBD1 siRNAs. RNAseq was performed using cells were harvested 24 hours or 48 hours after transfection with the SRBD1 siRNA or 48 hours after tranfection with the non-targeting siRNA.
