VPRS 15199 Committee Minutes (Records Not Transferred)

This series may contain the minutes of a single committee or a number of committees.The committee system is employed by most water and sewerage authorities. A committee may be appointed for any purpose which it is felt would be better regulated and managed by such committee. A committee may be either a standing committee or an occasional committee. Standing committees (in areas such as finance, public works etc.) are appointed to oversee specific matters on an ongoing basis. Such committees submit reports to the board regularly and these are included in the board minutes. Occasional committees are appointed for shorter terms to manage such things as arrangements for ceremonial occasions. Membership of committees is made up of some or all of the members of the board or trust.Minutes of all proceedings produced for each meeting, including the names of those present, are recorded in a book for that purpose. The book is kept by the secretary of the board, trust or local governing body.Such minutes were to be confirmed at the next meeting by signature of the chairman.
