Each cell contains continuous per-channel coverage fractions derived from the USGS National Land Cover Database (NLCD) 2024. Unlike NLCDs native discrete classification, this dataset expresses land cover as continuous multi-channel density values — for example, a cell at a forest-wetland boundary is represented as 0.6 forest and 0.35 wetland rather than being forced into a single class. The data is organized as GeoParquet files per state, containing H3 indices, centroid coordinates, and coverage fraction columns for various land cover types (e.g., open water, ice/snow, developed areas of different intensities, barren land, forest types, shrub/scrub, grassland, crops, wetlands).
