资源简介:
The Copernican astronomic revolution suffers from severe criticism, mainly from the fathers of the Protestant Reformation, devoted to the "letters" of the holy bible, from whom they gather conformation of the validity of geocentrism, the world's view always accepted from the Roman Catholic church. To Galileo, the new Copernican system was a veritable description of the universe and because of this conviction, he clashes into dissension with the Catholic church, because they're afraid of a victory of this new science, which could cause the decline of religious Faith, the religious authority and the triumph of the secularization. Such a process of secularization was also provoked by politic-religiously conflicts between Protestants and Catholics: from this reformation's "unforseen circumstances" descents, paradoxically, the de-deification of the natural world and the religious disenchantment of the modern human being. In the circumference of the Spanish empire, in the land of Otranto (Terra d'Otranto), emerge deep echoes of this philosophical and scientifical controversy, the tension for the church's reformation and the quest of finding a knowledge that values the person's rational abilities but without negating the intimate tension to God.
