A recent study by Monsell and Graham (2021) found that participants make more errors on 6-choice reaction time tasks when the stimuli in each task have phonologically similar names compared to when the stimuli in a task have phonologically dissimilar names. These results suggest declarative working memory plays a role in the aquisition of newly instructed stimulus-response rules. The study preregistered here aims to replicate this finding, with some minor modifications to the paradigm. unknown other
