The field of precision cellular therapy is forecast to undergo rapid expansion in the coming decade and there is an urgent need for evidence-based tools, co-produced with patients, to better support the growing number of individuals with haematologic malignancies who will receive these potentially curative treatments. The novelty of Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapies, the unique and potentially severe toxicities associated with these treatments, and emerging evidence of long-term and late-effects of treatment mean effective symptom monitoring is key to maximising treatment benefit and ensuring patient safety. Development of predictive models that include ePRO data have been developed for other cancers and therapies; however, these systems may not be appropriate for monitoring the distinctive symptom profiles associated with CAR-T cellular therapy, providing the warrant for this research.
