Genome sequencing and assembly of clinical Clostridium difficile isolates from children. Clostridioides difficile

Clinical C. difficile isolates previously collected from children with C. difficile infection at a single center and previously characterized by restriction endonuclease analysis underwent whole genome sequencing. Draft genomes were analyzed to: 1. assess the genomic characteristics of the diverse array of isolates in pediatric patients; 2. assess the genomic characteristics of emerging strain DH/NAP11/106; 3. identify potential mechanisms of antibiotic resistance; and 4. identify potential modes of transmission.
