The design of the nozzle curve surface stemmed from Coanda effect was made. Comparison analysis by FLUENT simulation on different diffusion angle of the nozzle was made, and the hydrodynamic disturbance was minimal when the diffusion angle was 100◦ and the inlet diameter was 16 mm. In order to make a further optimization, the inlet diameter was changed to 24 mm for reducing the inlet velocity, and then the outlet edge of nozzle was changed to radial type. The hydrodynamic disturbance was further reduced.The performance testing platform was designed and installed for comparative experimental analysis on performanceof various types of diffusers. Three groups of experiments had been made under the original octagonal diffuser, the octagonal diffuser with nozzles and the octagonal diffuser with nozzles and uniform flow orifice. The chilled water storage efficiency was close to 90% when the third scheme was chosen.
