Investigations into the ancestry of the Grape-eye Seabass

This study was an Investigation into the evolutionary history of the Grape-eye Seabass (Hemilutjanus macrophthalmos) that tested its relationships relative to other fishes and demonstrated its placement among the acropomatiform fishes. With the revised phylogeny and classification of acropomatiform fishes resulting from this study, the evolution of bioluminescence and the invasion of the deep sea will be investigated.
