Site Images and GIS Data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Norwich Road and Pesthouse Lane, Barham, Suffolk, June 2021

This collection consists of site images and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation at Norwich Road and Pesthouse Lane, Barham, Suffolk. Works were conducted in June 2021 by Cotswold Archaeology. A total of 17 trenches were excavated, with archaeological deposits identified in six of them, modern disturbance in a further three and the remaining eight being blank. Twenty-six sherds of pottery dating to the Middle Iron Age were recovered from a deposit filling a small natural hollow at the south-western corner of the site while a single sherd of similarly dated pottery was recovered from a ditch located close to the eastern edge of the site. The remainder of the features recorded, four ditches and three pits remain undated. A sample taken of the deposit showed charred cereal grains and wood charcoal to be present.
