Data are from an ongoing study of the biogeographical patterns in microbial community composition and metagenomic functions in the phyllosphere of the Tamarix tree. This extremely resilient tree is adapted to a wide range of water availability conditions, which contributes to its nearly global distribution as well as to its success as an invading species in the New World.
