Subglacial environments feed downstream river deltas with sediments, solutes and microbial communities. This study aims to address the potential ecological fate of microbiota that are deposited within the Watson River delta in southwest Greenland. Long-term (12 month) anaerobic microcosms were established using sampled sediments with substrate additions, including a CO2:H2:N2 mix-gas and methanol.
