PubMed Central® (PMC) is a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal articles in the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM). The PubMed Central (PMC) Article Datasets include full-text articles archived in PMC.

This listing provides a Cortex Knowledge Extension allowing you to ask questions of biomedical and scientific research included in the PMC Open Access Subset and get back summarized, cited answers in your AI assistant and agentic applications built on Snowflake Cortex AI.

After getting this listing, you will find a new Cortex Search Service shared with your account. The search service was created using the snowflake-arctic-embed-m-v1.5 embedding model. You can use natural language to draw answers from the content by either prompting the Cortex Agent API directly in SQL, using Cortex Search Playground or Snowflake Intelligence or creating a Streamlit in Snowflake.
