This data constitutes bacterioplankton present in of Chaliyar river sediments collected during pre-monsoon season. The sediment samples were collected from eight sites of Chaliyar river which are Beypore, Azhinjillam, Oorkadavu, Mukkam, Areekode, Mampadu, Nilambur, and Chaliyar mukku. The sites were divided into upstream and downstream . Upstream includes Areekode, Mampadu, Nilambur, Chaliyar mukku and downstream includes Beypore, Azhinjillam, Oorkadavu and Mukkam. The samples were pooled and mixed thoroughly to upstream and downstream. DNA extraction and Sequencing were done using the mixture of sediments collected from upstream and downstream.
