This study conducted 16S rRNA gene sequencing to analyzed the gut microbiota of 101 fecal samples of preeclamptic patients and 79 samples of healthy controls, separately in antepartum, 1 week postpartum and 6 weeks postpartum. We identified the potential pathogens of preeclampsia and revealed dynamic changes of patients’gut microbiota from late pregnancy to postpartum. We also detected potential correlations between preeclampsia-associated gut bacteria and host clinical characteristics, providing pieces for understanding the underlying mechanisms of preeclampsia.
