Piedmont Region (Italy) 2017 burn severity maps

The dataset contains burn severity maps of ten wildfires occurred in the Piedmont Region (Italy) during autumn 2017. <br>Maps were produced by thresholding three different NBR (Normalized Burn Ratio) -based bi-temporal indices (differenced NBR - dNBR, Relative differenced NBR - RdNBR, Relativized Burn Ratio - RBR) computed using Sentinel-2 imagery. Thresholds were predicted from regression models relating field data (Composite Burn Index plots) and NBR-based bi-temporal indices.Either a pair of cloud-free pre- and post-fire images, i.e. paired images, or reflectance composites, produced using all the images acquired during the growing seasons of 2017 and 2018, were employed for computing bi-temporal indices.<br>A previous version of the project was published in the website of the Piedmont Region.<br>
