Fecal microbiome 16S amplicon sequences from breastfed Danish infants

Gastroenteritis is an important cause of ailment among infants in high-income countries, including Denmark. There are many cases of diarrhea among Danish children for which no etiological agent is detected. This study investigated the associations between gastroenteritis-related morbidities (diarrhea, fever, vomiting) and the gut microbial community in well-nourished, breastfeeding Danish infants.
