Brazilian Mayoral Elections and Local Radio Ownership Dataset (2000–2016)

This dataset was constructed by systematically merging information from multiple official public sources in Brazil. It compiles civic and institutional indicators at the municipal level, with a particular focus on local media ownership and electoral performance. The primary data sources are the Ministério das Comunicações (Ministry of Communications), the Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (Superior Electoral Court), and the Câmara dos Deputados (Chamber of Deputies). Version 2 of the dataset includes standardized identifiers and harmonized variables to facilitate longitudinal and cross-sectional analyses across Brazilian municipalities.
