Navigating Hepatitis B Care in Australia: Experiences of People Living with Hepatitis B

This PhD explored how people living with hepatitis B interact with the healthcare system in Australia. Hepatitis B is a liver condition that affects over 250 million people worldwide and over 200,000 Australians. Through interviews with patients and clinicians, and analysis of health information, this PhD examined the clinical, social and personal aspects of care. The findings identified ways to improve public health messaging, areas of necessary support for patients, and highlighted patient preferences for different treatment approaches. This research contributes to improving the current models of care to better respond to the needs of people living with hepatitis B.
