ALOS Palsar 1.1 Radar Processing System

Americas ALOS Data Node (AADN) with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's (JAXA's) launch of the Advanced Land Observation Satellite (ALOS) in January 2006, a new era of L band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) began. The Alaska Satellite Facility (AF) operates the Americans ALOS Data Node under a joint project agreement with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) downlinking, processing, distributing, and archiving ALOS data. As the AADN, ASF has partnered with many organizations to ensure the widest, most-effective distribution of these data. In November of 2009, Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) Phased Array L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR) data became available to select users at the U.S. Geological Survey Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center. ALTOS PALSAR 1.1 is the product of Single-look complex (SLC) equally spaced on the slant range (equal to the spacing of sampling measurement) generated after rendering SAR processing to level 1.1. product.
