This dataset provides all raw data and supplementary materials supporting the manuscript "Brittle Stars and Toxic Tales: Histological Insights into Persian Gulf brittle star Ophiocoma scolopendrina’s Regeneration in Cadmium-Contaminated Waters" (JMBA-2025-0145.R3) submitted to the Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom.It includes:High-resolution raw histological micrographs (Milligan’s Trichrome staining) of regenerating arms in control and cadmium-exposed (50 µg/l CdCl₂) specimens of Ophiocoma scolopendrina at 24 h, 72 h, 7 d, 14 d, 21 d, 35 d, and 42 d post-amputation.Arm length measurement datasets (n=21 per group).Supplementary Video S1 showing mechanical fragility testing of regenerated arms in cadmium-treated vs. control samples at 42 days post-amputation.These data demonstrate cadmium-induced delays in wound healing, reduced regeneration rate, resource reallocation toward podia development, and skeletal fragility due to interference with calcium biomineralization. The dataset enables full reproducibility of the histological and morphometric findings presented in the manuscript.
