Validation data and mapping information for: Mapping cervid forage in Sweden using remote sensing and national forest inventory data

Overview This repository contains information for the paper: Mapping cervid forage in Sweden using remote sensing and national forest inventory data.https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jag.2025.104850 Maps Map products are available at a 1km2 and a 1ha spatial scale via https://doi.org/10.5878/63mq-rq08 Data The data presented here is showcasing the general workflow of our data processing and modelling approach. We don't have permission to share original NFI dataset as it includes permanent plot data from the Swedish NFI which is under restriction. Therefore, we instead showcase the generalized workflow and demonstrate the modelling procedures with a minimal reproducible example. The actual predicted maps are available via https://doi.org/10.5878/63mq-rq08 Mapping Further, we showcase our approach how to spatialize the data. There's different .tif files that are needed to predict the models onto a map.The r-script model fitting contains the necessary information to fit our models for the six tree species: Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), birch (Betula spp.), European aspen (Populus tremula), rowan (Sorbus aucuparia), oak (Quercus spp.), and goat willow (Salix caprea). Validation Lastly, the zipped folder validation contains the validation dataset and script.Paths in the r script need to be adjusted accordingly.
