Skin microbiota of healthy controls and patients with Nagashima-type palmoplantar keratosis

Skin swab samples were collected from the intertoe area of healthy controls or patients with Nagashima-type palmoplantar keratosis before and after topical application of benzoyl peroxide. The 16S rRNA gene hypervariable V1-V2 regions were PCR-amplified using universal primers (a barcoded 27F and 338R), and multiplexed amplicon pyrosequencing was carried out using Illumina MiSeq.
