Ocean surface temperatures are rising and will continue to increase significantly due to global climate change. As temperatures rise and increase beyond current ranges, it is unclear how microbial adaptation will impact their distribution and activity. To address this major unknown, we imposed a stressful high temperature regime and low temperature control for 500 generations on a strain from the abundant marine Roseobacter clade.
