The diversity of the Chali Co Lake

Chali Co is located between the Nianqing Tanggula Mountains and the Kunlun Mountains, and is the highest freshwater lake in the world, with an altitude of approximately 4650 meters. The diversity of microorganisms in its water remains to be studied. Using the Illumina high-throughput sequencing platform, 16S rRNA gene (V3-V5 region) high-throughput sequencing was performed on bacterial and archaeal communities in the water samples of Lake Cuonacuo to detect differences in community structure and microbial diversity among the four samples. The results showed that the species annotation OUT numbers of bacteria and archaea in the saltwater Cuonacuo Lake were 1678 and 526, respectively. The total effective sequences obtained for bacteria and archaea were 209987 and 229926, respectively. The bacterial species with clear classification status are 37 phyla, 54 classes, 417 genera, and archaea are 10 phyla, 9 classes, and 32 genera.
