资源简介:

The redox state established in deep magma oceans exerts a pronounced influence on planetary differentiation, including the formation of distinct geochemical domains and early atmospheres on Earth and other rocky planets [1]. The estimated mean pressure (P) of silicate-alloy equilibria in Earth’s magma ocean ranges up to more than 60 GPa [2], and it may be considerably greater in super-Earth exoplanets. Experimental constraints on the iron (Fe) redox speciation applicable to magma oceans are currently limited to below 28 GPa and a narrow range of composition variation. This results in conflicting predictions regarding the stabilization of oxidized species in deep magma oceans [3-6]. This study builds upon ES-1591 “Disproportion and spin crossover of iron in planetary magma oceans” and aims to examine the influence of oxygen fugacity (fO2) on Fe disproportionation reactions and spin crossovers in deep magma oceans up to 80 GPa during early evolution of rocky planets.
